I went to Dr. Maria Loukili's office for a consultation to obtain a prescription needed for my insurance claim. This is a process I'm familiar with, as it's my fourth medical claim and I've already been reimbursed three times by my insurance company for the same procedure. I explained the situation and the procedure to the receptionist, and I even showed her an example of a previous medical claim to demonstrate that this request was perfectly legitimate. The receptionist then told me, in front of everyone in the waiting room, that the doctor doesn't normally issue this type of prescription, but that she would make an exception only because she knows the healthcare professional I'm seeing. The entire scene unfolded while other patients listened and watched, which I found extremely awkward and inappropriate. The doctor neither saw me nor spoke to me, and simply prepared the paperwork from her office, communicating only with her receptionist. Despite this, I was charged 150 MAD for the consultation, without any real medical exchange. Finally, before giving me the documents, the receptionist took photos of my papers, which made me very uncomfortable and gave me the impression of being wrongly suspected, even though my request was perfectly legitimate. Even though I was very angry, I remained calm and respectful, because I knew the receptionist was simply following the doctor's instructions. I preferred to leave without making a scene, but I left the office extremely disappointed and shocked by this lack of professionalism. I find this attitude unprofessional and disrespectful towards patients. I sincerely hope that this kind of situation will not happen to anyone else.
