Hotel Le Golf D'Essaouira & Spa

The only thing worth the while in this hotel is their Buffet restaurant (great cooks/food, great background music, and good service) + the Ocean/Golf view from the rooms. Other than that, our 5 days stay wasn’t worth the price we paid nor the time we spent there, hzre are some major elements to be more explicit: - Rooms: were full of mold, showers had sewage smell and quickly flooded over the room floor, Summer insects everywhere (mosquitoes and cockroaches). The TV is configured in a way not to allow light setting changes or timer (which is not understandable, when u watch TV during night time, u want to set the brightness to low and set the timer to sleep). No laundery bag in the room. - Customer Service: The service was bad, they didn’t take into consideration the request that we made and insisted on two days before check-in (a simply No Mold room) + reception doesn’t answer the call quickly, u gotta wait around 1 min on the phone ringing + room service is not responsive (u’ve got to recall and ask more than once for most of the things u request). - Cleaning: When it’s cleaning time, they take the used towels, but don’t bring u clean ones until u get to call and call again later during the day. - Entertainment: There was no marking Summer entertainment as one would expect in a resort and the game room is open at night but with no games to play 😅 an 8-pool table without balls, the babyfoot without balls, and the table tennis with no raquettes (it feels like the hotel has stopped investing in entertainment). - Pools: the bio-pool looked disgusting and not really inviting for any swim. And the central pool was OK - SPA: not sure it can even called a SPA anymore, shocking very used and needs repairs and reconditioning, expensive prices for the current state of the place, no surprise why we found it empty with no customers, who would want to adventure in mold land? —> Conclusion: All in all, great food, this hotel is not Luxury at all and doesn’t abide by the Sofitel Standards (customer service was bad, moldy rooms have to be reconditioned as they got used over the time and the sea exposure, halls walls have to be reconditioned, and they need to invest more in entertainment) WE DON’T RECOMMEND STAYING IN THIS HOTEL. Rather go stay in a suburban villa if u are looking for the calm, or in the medina of Essaouira if looking for an authentic welcoming local experience.

I went to Sofitel Essaouira today to have a coffee and relax a bit, but honestly, I was really disappointed. The service was poor, and the coffee was far below expectations for a place with such a reputation. Hopefully, they’ll improve the quality because the location is beautiful, but the experience didn’t match the name.

Very nice stay during last minute booking of this hotel. Warm welcome on arrival and friendly, helpful staff encountered throughout. Was grateful for room upgrade. Spacious room with large balcony, perfect for relaxing, overlooking outdoor dining areas, golf course and other amenities, beyond which was the massive expanse of ocean. Great room service and a couple of small requests made were happily accommodated. TV wasn't the most modern but that wasn't the point of stay. For the quiet, relaxed setting and stunning scenery alone, I would recommend.

This hotel has seen better days. Beautiful location and Picturesque from the outside. Once you get inside you will find an aged old hotel that needs serious work. We moved four times before we had a room that didn’t smell. One room need four light bulbs replace and seemed good until we found out air conditioning didn’t work. Last room air conditioning work and they sent two maintenance personal to install five burnt out light bulbs. They were sorry and did apologize by giving us a free dinner which was nice. Problem being hotel needs major works.if you are looking for a place to stay that has a good view and can get a cheap price this could be the place to stay if you don’t mind the condition. This ambience is a lot like the streets .

Rather old hotel, needs refurbishing, but this is largely compensated by the friendlyness and the quality of the service. Everything was clean, food very good with a lot of variation. The hourly free shuttle to town makes it a good starting point to explore the town without having the noise of it. Taxi is 50 MAD if you need to come back after shuttle hours. Plenty available. The hotel is on the golf, our room had a beautiful view on it and on the ocean. Safety is top, day and night for the whole estate.

We had higher expectations.. Staff was very nice, breakfast was good, the pool was great, the golf field was beautiful, but the room and some amenities need more and a better maintenance. With a good refurbishment, and by paying more attention to details the hotel will deserve its 5 stars.

What a disappointment! This hotel charged us three times for the airport transfers, we emailed 3 times, called twice and they hung up on us every time. The hotel looks beautiful, but scratch beneath the surface and you will see how tired it is, the walls and floors are scratched, the spa facilities are out of order, and the doors are stuck or get stuck from the humidity. The mattresses are old and sink in the middle. Food - The breakfast and dinner buffet are very poor. However, the pool side restaurant serves very good food and the staff are great. The young staff at reception are very busy asking you to name them on trip advisor but not doing their job… no wonder we were charged 3 times for airport transfer and had to explain how dinner reservations work. Lastly, two pools out of 3 were not cleaned, and the main pool has tiles so old, I cut my feet on them. And some of the garden/balcony furniture is a bit damp. Wouldn’t go back.
