Just what I needed! After a long hot day and 2 weeks in Morocco, we showed up at their door between services. Despite being closed, they welcomed us into their space. We sat on the terrace and talked with the owner before ordering. Kallie ordered ravioli (made in house) and I, the pesto - he gave me a look, then glanced at his garden and basil… I said oh no, that looks like too much work, he brushed that off, picked a handful and disappeared into the kitchen. They brought a salad of tomatoes, avocado and lettuce and ham - yes ham before our main course arrived. The pastas were perfect and such a nice treat. We’ve enjoyed all our meals in Morocco, (some more than others) and trying new things but this was just what this guy needed to get me over the hump. Never have I felt so welcome at a restaurant and treated so well, yet in a casual and friendly way. Thanks Phoenix, your hospitality was exceptional.

This is a beautiful restaurant with spectacular pastas. The proprietor makes the house pasta himself, and it will not disappoint. His years in Italy trained him well! The fragrant pesto was made from the basil he hand picked on the terrace. The pumpkin ravioli was perfect, with sage browned butter. The portion sizes are generous. They are a gracious and friendly family, making us feel very welcome. Thank you for a lovely meal, and for the kind hospitality.

Phoenix is a beautiful hidden restaurant in Ourzazate. Me and my partner came here for a late night dinner during our stay as we were surprised to see an Italian style restaurant. We arrived late and out of season so had the restaurant to ourselves but we are so glad we stayed. The owner treated us to a complimentary appetiser of aubergines and cured meats which we had with a bottle of Moroccan red. We shared prawns pil pil with fresh baguette which was so delicious. We then went for the atlas thyme lamb chops and garlic steak which came with fries and vegetables. The meal was perfection, the courtyard was peaceful and romantic! Credit to you Phoenix!

Had a lovely dinner with about 20 friends. The staff was amazing it felt like a dinner at a friends house. The food was plentiful- we did a family style dinner. So many courses - prices we reasonable. Highly recommend!! Our price was high because we had a ton of wine.

Delicious italian dinner in a nice setting with great service. We found the restaurant during our visit to ouarzazate and Ait benhaddou. And surprisingly all dishes are so amazing that we ve to come back again the next day. The quality of the raw materials are good and the price is relatively cheap compared to the quality. Recommended dishes are Shrimp pil pil, Spaghetti cabonara, Grilled lamb chop and fish of the day. The lamb chop here is charcoal grilled. The smell is amazing, just like the grilled vegetable. I love the charcoal grilled zucchini. The wine is available too. The service here is also great. The staffs are very attentive and polite. They offered salad and oysters on the house. Last but not least, the price is very very reasonable. We, party of 5, ate quite a lot with a bottle of wine, total bill is around 570 dirham the first day and 630 dirham a day after (cuz we order 2 whole fishes) Highly recommended!!!
