Really friendly owner and a super location. The central atrium (now with a lift new for 2024!) is well restored with a cozy homely feel matching Essaouira's vibe. However the rooms are simply decorated and quite budget, with bare light bulbs, thin mattress, thin sheets, tatty shower head, slow drain, etc. Cupboard door handles are missing. It all works and is clean, but just a bit dated and budget and needs some love. Everything is clean. The roof garden has good views, but it is a bit neglected, with dirty cushions and dusty windows, badly painted. It has a neglected budget feel. It needs a good hose down and a spruce up to bring it back to its former glory. Especially as breakfast is served up here. Breakfast was tasty, with traditional breads and cake, but a bit half hearted, with the tea going cold and a shortage of everything, again a bit too budget. With a bit more effort it could be upgraded to boutique style in the room. To be honest I think the priority now the lift is installed should be upgrading the details in the rooms (hiding bare wires, a new shower head and updated chrome taps, a bit of Mr Muscle in the drains). Cotton bedsheets, new pillows, maybe a new mattress. Cleaning up the rooftop and buying some traditional breakfast crockery would really lift the Essaouira experience and leave a lasting impression. I think guests who appreciate the lift will also expect a slightly better standard. At the moment they are inflated tourist prices (€142) for local standards and I think just lacking in perceived value. I would happily stay again, but I would investigate the other options first and probably realise that you have to pay a lot in this tourist mecca and probably with some more modernisation could charge a bit more here too!

Excellent location, within walking distance of the Supratours station and easy to carry your luggage. The concierges were friendly and attentive, offering a map and recommendations. Access to the upper floors by elevator is a rarity. Excellent value for money.

Not recommended!!! It's next to the mosque, so every morning at 5:30 a.m. you're woken up by the Muslim call to prayer. The interior is old, and the furnishings are old as well. The bathroom is awful and tiny, so when you take a shower it floods and the water spills into the bedroom. Of all the lights, only the one in the bathroom works, so the bedroom is left in the dark at night. The Wi-Fi doesn't work well, meaning it loses continuous connection, making it unusable. The staff doesn't speak Italian!!! The only nice thing is the panoramic terrace.

A very pretty riad, very friendly staff, breakfast included. Two terraces for a wonderful sunset and for having breakfast. I recommend it.
