Sadly our stay here is over. Superlatives cannot do it justice. It feels like home and family if home were perched thrillingly above the Atlantic waves. Essaouira is lovely and it is interesting to explore but sitting in our room watching the ocean was the best. The bed, linen and towels, robes, furnishings are outstanding. The room is more than tastefully decorated, there is an inspired talent here. The staff are commiserate with the property, that is welcoming, friendly, helpful, genuine. I regret planning our Morocco visit for anywhere other than here.
What a place! The Riad was so authentic and it makes you feel that you are in one of those authentic Moroccan houses! Khadija was so welcoming and we enjoyed a cup of Atai! Staying at this Riad is an extremely advisable and recommended experience. The breakfast was so fresh and tender. The room was so clean and cold. The soap was fresh and smells so good. Thanks for the great experience.
+ A stylish riad with plenty of nice and thoughtful details (a reading nook on the ground floor, roses in the room etc.) + The loveliest cat: she’s very sweet and playful (maybe she can have more toys somewhere in the common area?). She was so active that all the photos I have are a bit blurry. + We were staying at the ocean view room: the view is simply breathtaking! The room itself is of a decent size. + There are heaters in the bedroom and the bathroom: very practical for winter evenings. + Location: a nice area of medina with some interesting shops and cafes nearby (The Sisterhood is just around the corner and highly recommendable). - Not the comfiest mattress in the world (it’s still okay to sleep though). - The breakfast could be less sweet and more fruity/veggie, but, I guess, it’s more of a local tradition in general

Avoid at all cost. Our agent booked 3 rooms for 5 persons on 2nd November 2022. It has taken me until now to calm down from our terrible experience. This was our 10th night in a Riad in Morocco, and we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves until then. Young girl at front desk was helpful and pleasant. 2 of us stayed in Room 5, on the medina side of the building. The room was dimly lit with no air conditioning. The windows needed to be opened to provide an air flow. The window in the bedroom opened inwards and was directly next to a walkway between the 2 buildings. There was nor privacy or security. Anybody walking past could see in, or easily climb through the window. Worse was the bathroom, the 2 large windows opened inwards, leading directly o a communal corridor. There was a blind, but bizzarely, this was outside the window, and twice when we closed the blind, somebody wound it back up. We asked for a change of room. II went down to reception and heard the owner, a French man, laughing with the staff at our request. He said the Riad was full and could not change the room. This could have been the end of it, but he then mocked our claims and never addressed our privacy concerns. The arrogance of the owner was unbelievable. Having seen other reviews about him, I have no doubt he will spend time defending his policies instead of improving privacy and security. Breakfast was fine, except that for 5 people we were given 2 small pieces of cheese, and 2 small pieces of ham, each nicely sliced into 5 tiny portions. We did not dare ask for more as the owner was sitting next to us drinking coffee, giving us nasty looks. The shower, in the bath tub, was positively dangerous, incredibly slippy until we put a towel on the floor of the bath to prevent injury. There is a bar downstairs which sells bottles of wine to guests, although to my belief, it is not possible for a Riad to obtain a liquor licence. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable, although we could not sleep, and the soap provided was of high quality. Overall, a terrible experience made worse by an arrogant egotistic owner.
Arrogant owner puts his clients on the defensive. I complained about not having internet, he accused me of beating my iPhone and iPad as he does have internet. His IT person came to the room and couldn’t fix the problem. Had to move to a lower category room with no compensation. He didn’t know my wife was standing close to the room while he was badmouthing us to his housekeeper. If you have a problem and want to check out before the date of your booking check out, forget it he will charge your credit card for the whole period. Avoid this hotel at all price.
Amazed by the beauty of the rooms and the hotel overall. Very nice breakfast, very friendly owners and of course the most amazing view over the ocean ever!! (Only thing that can be improved is the hot tub, but I didn't really mind that )
An absolutely fantastic intimate and stylish pearl in the old city. Personalised rooms, rooftop breakfast with a sea view, excellent and discreet service. Loved it!
