Café L'Esprit

I had a nice time at this cafe. I was looking for a place that was calm and quiet and I found it here. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. I had a drink on the terrace and it was so peaceful. I will definitely come back here next time I’m in essaouira!

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with Mamadou. His behavior was disrespectful and unprofessional, not only toward me but also toward my sister-in-law and my family. I expected to be treated with basic respect, but the experience was very disappointing. I am sharing this review so others are aware, and I hope Mamadou improves the way he treats people and his customers in the future.

Cutest little spot in Essouria! Lovely staff, cute decor, nice drinks.

We had lemon meringue pie in the afternoon with a flat white coffee and just had to go back - such a friendly vibe, a gem of a cafe. The roof terrace is a perfectly relaxing, chilled open space. We ate the most delicious food - lentil salad, beetroot salad, humous and home made bread. There’s also Lamb Tajine and chicken skewers if you fancy meat - we’ll be back - couldn’t recommend enough - breakfast, lunch or an evening meal.

Truly lovely cafe with excellent food, juices, and coffee. The rooftop location is a great spot for reading, writing, thinking. Service was excellent. Thank you

Very disappointing experience at Café l'Esprit in Essaouira. Being refused access to the terrace unless you order food makes no sense for a place that calls itself a café, not a restaurant. If you're running a café, customers should be able to enjoy a coffee on the terrace without being forced to order a meal. This policy is misleading, unwelcoming, and shows very poor customer service. There are plenty of cafés in Essaouira that actually understand what hospitality means. I won't be returning.
