The Marina Steakhouse Restaurant

One of the best I always visit wherever I come back home. It has a wonderful view and fresh food. Plus, it's a traditional place. I hope they can add soft music or snoul jazz music to make it one of the best moments.

We greatly enjoyed our meal tonight, and felt welcomed by the staff as two women dining solo. I enjoyed my pasta carbonara (huge portion) and the chicken burger was enjoyable with good flavor, well cooked, and delicious fries. We were able to sip some very affordable light beers along with our meal, the first alcohol in our 2 week trip in morocco! The area also felt safe at night with many lights and street guards. We walked from the Fairmont in just a few minutes. As others have mentioned, the smoking is an issue on the patio. We moved tables to be upwind of another group due to my asthma. Staff was accommodating and made no issue of it. However, there were two somewhat aggressive altercations with customers inappropriately confronting staff, I believe having to do with firstly smoking, then some kind of complaint with the bill. It was shocking to see both customers getting loud, aggressive, and to the point of real escalation! Staff were excellent and the manager was able to de-escalate the issue both times, and I feel there may be an issue involving alcohol that is making customers behave badly. It is embarrassing to see other tourists behave this way, and I wish it wasn’t the case. For any tourists reading my review, please remember we are guests in their country, and most issues can be resolved politely.

Solid steakhouse with large, outdoor seating area next to the marina. An upstairs area provides a reasonable facsimile of a NYC steakhouse. Steak was decent. Stuffed baked potatoes was a little dry. Salads are nice. I found it offensive when the waiter requested a tip.

Very good. The location is great right infront of the sea. The decor is nice snd staff are very friendly and professional. Would recommenf to anyone looking to eat quality food. Prices are reasonable.

This restaurant is currently 100% a smoking area, which is a real disappointment. Most restaurants in Morocco have now moved to non-smoking or at least to clearly separated smoking areas, and this place is clearly behind that trend. From a health perspective, this is problematic: passive smoking affects children, non-smokers, and also the staff who work here every day. From a dining perspective, it is simply unpleasant to eat while surrounded by smoke, and all clothes end up smelling of tobacco for days after the visit. To their credit, the staff and the manager tried to improve the situation by relocating us downstairs where there were fewer smokers, which helped a bit, but it does not solve the core issue. Regarding the food, the meat was excellent. The burger itself was quite basic, and the spinach side dish arrived cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen. Because of the staff’s attitude and the quality of part of the food, this is not a one-star experience. However, due to the smoking environment, it cannot be a five-star one either. Suggestion for improvement (very concrete): • Make the upstairs area a smoking section (smoke naturally goes up), and keep the downstairs and terrace non-smoking; or • Move entirely to a non-smoking restaurant. Smokers are used to stepping outside, as in many other restaurants. We visited a competitor restaurant in Rabat the following day (Le Petit Beur), which has been non-smoking since 1994, and the difference in comfort was significant. Such a change here would make the restaurant far more pleasant for families, non-smokers, employees, and even for smokers. Final note: the staff was professional and accommodating, and the quality of the meat shows real potential. With a healthier environment, this place could easily become a top recommendation and happy to revisit the stars if non smoking in the future.
