I stayed at the hostel for several times during a two weeks journey, I had been both in the shared bedroom and the single one. The one for share was way better than the single, because this last was dirty, the floor, the table, and the chair. The ceiling had a huge moisture of humidity, the window had not the shutters, so in the morning I was woke up by the sunlight at seven o clock, so I lf I wanted slept for a bit more, I could have not...The most frightening thing was that the bed blanket had a moisture of something white solidificated which I wish I didnt have to know what it was... The only real kind and positive people were the owners of the structure, while the cleaning woman was so arrogant and grumpy that I could neither ask a question that she threw me a striking glimpse, so annoying... Maybe most of the people who are used to this kind of things, got pleased to be here, but it is not my case
I was originally booked into a local small hotel, but on arrival it was closed and there was no answer when I phoned them, so upon being stranded in Alessandria without anywhere to stay during the Centauri weekend 2014 they were able to offer me accommodation at a reasonable rate, the staff were all really friendly and helpful especially as my Italian is currently very limited, I made friends while there too. I would definitely recommend this place, they even allow the parking of motorcycles within the inner courtyard so not only is it general traveller friendly it is also biker friendly.
Good place, easy to live, clean and cheap. really helpful people!
Seriously cold in the winter
The location is beautiful and evocative, given the ancient cloister. The interior, however, is falling apart; the plaster on the ceiling was falling off, and other parts of the structure also had precarious scaffolding to keep the ceiling intact. Another negative is the only bathroom in the entire building, which features a single shower. The location is excellent, but everything else is too shabby for a hostel.
My friend and I stayed here for work for the first time. It wasn't a great experience...nothing to say about the place, because it's a piece of history and very beautiful, but as for the rooms... The cleanliness was below zero, the dorm room was freezing cold to say the least! The bed was perhaps comfortable... But as for the rest, there really could be some things to revise. Granted, I wasn't expecting a hotel room, especially in a dorm...but I definitely expected better. The guy at the front desk was very kind and friendly. As for the rest, I've already said it all.
I spent two nights in this magnificent hostel... a new experience for me, but one I'll definitely repeat. A fantastic location in the center of Alessandria, a step back in time, where tranquility and history reign supreme. Clean and reasonably priced. I've always found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. I'll probably return next month.
Among the best hostels in Italy and certainly the most beautiful. A marvelous structure, a work of art full of charm. The young managers are extremely kind, the welcome is excellent, and the human touch is exquisite. I'm gay and I can assure you that it's truly a gay-friendly hostel. The rooms are quiet, spotlessly clean, and the courtyard is truly breathtaking... in its beauty! In short, an enchanting stay 👍
