Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. I'm going to share my personal experience. I don't know if my dental condition was complicated or not, but I had a tooth behind another tooth in my upper jaw due to insufficient space, and therefore I didn't have the courage to smile at school or with my family. Thankfully, I was able to get braces from Dr. Laghdas Nasreen in my first year of high school, but it wasn't the best experience. I learned about her through another dentist I used to see when I was younger. I admit that the nurses were very good, but what was more important was the dentist's treatment and the result of the treatment, which was never satisfactory. Despite wearing braces for three years, the result was almost incomplete; there were still gaps between my teeth, a tooth that was hidden was now visible but tilted, and my bite was still incorrect. I told the dentist about these issues, but she didn't pay any attention to what I said. After finishing the braces, I went on with my treatment, but only three months later, the metal wire attached behind my teeth broke. I went to other dentists to find out the reason, and they mentioned the same things I had told my first dentist. They added that I needed new braces because my teeth would shift back to their original positions due to what's called "tooth memory." They also told me that even if the wires were repaired, they would break again because my lower teeth keep hitting them. Now, after a year and a half, I need to save up and go to another competent dentist—I don't know who yet—and get my braces re-fitted because my teeth are getting worse every day. May God help me.
