My father and I had a lovely time at the restaurant. We were well looked after and enjoyed the food. We had some fantastic prawns and a tajine each. We were very pleased with the quality of the food and the service. The staff spoke English very well, the restaurant was incredibly clean and it was nice to see an open kitchen. If we are back in Rabat we'd defintely come again.
The food was amazing. We ordered seafood soup, fish platter, and salmon with lobster sauce. The staff were nice. The ambiance was very lovely.
Very nice casual dining. Great service and lovely food.
I tried it twice. First time that quality was very good. However today, I was very disappointed, the fish smelled, was stale and not well seasoned. I was very disappointed. I gave one star only for the good service of the staff. Thanks.
I’m so happy to find this place. My meal was delicious. The restaurant is away from the touristy and trendy areas so the prices are reasonable. Many people were dining here at lunch time on Saturday, but I was seated without waiting. I had the fish soup, fish tajine, lemonade, and panna cotta dessert. I ate way too much yet everything was so tasty, including the bread and sauces served before the meal.
Marea was by far the best restaurant we visited in Rabat. Food was great and fresh, the staff is friendly and the space is warm and welcoming. Very affordable for such great food and service! We originally wanted to visit as many places as possible, but we had to go back for a second round at Marea. Both visits consisted of starters, main course and desserts. The menu is strictly seafood, but a great kitchen and fresh ingredients easily makes this one of our top food experiences in Rabat. They also serve a wonderful homemade lemonade. The restaurant is located a short walk outside the city centre, but definately worth a visit!
What do I want from a restaurant? Good, honest, unpretentious food, skilfully prepared in a relaxed and unfussy environment. I want to feel welcome and for the service to be attentive but not intrusive. I want to taste my beautifully cooked fish without complex and over flavoured sauces. Well I got all that I wanted at Marea. Thank you.
My best meal in Morocco.
