Restaurant Bab El Gharbi

I had a great meal here. A feast even.

Rooftop view of the medina from the western gate. Typical Moroccan cuisine. Unusually, they have tanjia on the menu, but be aware that it takes a couple of hours to prepare, so phone ahead if you want it. The food was excellent, as was the service. Nice to find a real restaurant (as opposed to a café or fast food) of this quality.

Today we had a delicious meal at the beautiful restaurant Bab El Gharbi. I had the fish bastilla and the meat tagine with prunes. Both dishes were incredibly tasty, and the meat was wonderfully tender. My mother had the mixed meat and three appetizers. She also thoroughly enjoyed everything — it was all fresh and delicious! The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. Not to mention, the location and ambiance of the restaurant are like a true oasis! We will definitely be coming back!

Very nice restaurant, decorated in typical Moroccan style but authentic. A nice calm terrace with a view on the old Medina. Excellent food and very kind owner and staff. Good prices also! I really recommend it if you are visiting Oujda.

Neat place with pleasant atmosphere. We've ordered 5 Assortiments, Poulet au Curry, Coscous légumes (be carefull, in my opinion this should be marked as dish for two prople 😉) and Brochettes Agneau.
