Hôtel Riad la clé de Fes

A beautiful riad with very friendly staff. The location is perfect for exploring the narrow streets of the medina on foot. Breakfast was fantastic. A small pool and a rooftop terrace with impressive panoramic views complete this gem. One could deduct points for the very poor restaurant recommendation and the torn tarpaulin on the rooftop terrace, which flapped loudly in the wind – but we'll leave that aside.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully renovated riad. I particularly appreciated the photo album documenting the renovations, which took place over 10 years ago and clearly demonstrate the riad's commitment to providing guests with comfort and refinement while respecting the spirit of Fez. It's also worth noting that the riad as a whole continues to be very well maintained, which is much appreciated. The staff is very welcoming, attentive, and highly professional. The service protocols are consistently followed from arrival to departure. The rooftop terrace offers panoramic views of Fez and allows guests to enjoy the stargazing after nightfall. A final bonus: the riad is located a 5-minute walk from Place X and a 3-minute walk from the nearest street where you can drive and park. And yet, it's right in the heart of the medina! One small detail that could be the icing on the cake: while the location on Google Maps is accurate, the absence of the "end of the street" leading to the Riad on Google Maps could be misleading. A more precise map than Google Maps would be welcome on the website.

A beautiful riad with very nicely furnished, spacious rooms. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a small pool on the ground floor. Breakfast and dinner are excellent. There is a lovely rooftop terrace where you can also have breakfast. If you have mobility issues, you should ask for a room on the side with access to the rooftop terrace. Otherwise, you will have to go down to the ground floor and then climb all the stairs on the other side.

I took this trip in 2011 and have wonderful memories of it! I'm still delighted! The welcome was warm, the local food excellent. The riad is beautiful and authentic! The room was wonderful! Very well located!

Charming and well-located place. Helpful staff. French owners. - Mint tea with biscuits offered twice (the first time upon arrival). - We found the set menu a bit expensive (20 EUR). So we ordered a set menu for two and, in addition to the main course (tagine), we received two appetizers and two desserts for the price of one set menu (220 MAD). - We booked a guide for a half-day (250 MAD). The full day cost 400 MAD. We reminded the guide that it was for a half-day because he didn't seem to have received the information. He grumbled a bit. In the end, he still went over the half-day (5 hours instead of 3), and when it came time to pay, 275 MAD with a 10% tip, he grumbled again. So we paid him 350 MAD. Aside from that, he was very friendly and showed us around the medina and some excellent shops. We were very satisfied. In hindsight, the guide was well worth it because the Fes medina is very large! - In one of the shops we visited with the guide, we paid twice with our card because the first time, the paper roll in the machine ran out. We couldn't verify that the payment had gone through. Back at the riad, we noticed the double payment. The riad staff contacted the shop using the business card we had brought (IMPORTANT!). We were able to track them down (taxi, inaccurate meeting place, etc.) and cancel the second payment. Everything was sorted out.

A charming riad ideally located in the heart of the medina. Imane and Ziane were incredibly kind, always smiling and ready to answer all our questions.

The staff were very kind and pleasant. The food was delicious. It's worth it, I loved it!

Good service and good facilities, very old and beautiful. Located near some areas with a bit of activity.
