Riad Moulay Driss & GIACOMO FES

As part of a family roots trip in Morocco, we had the privilege of visiting this magical place for a delicious and rich dinner. We had a tour at the hotel and we were very impressed with the beauty of the rooms and roof. A truly magical oasis. Special architecture, renewal of a historical building, and a high level of maintenance. But the real charm of the place is the owner, the daughter (who is the manager), and the staff. Warm hospitality and warm people. Oriental atmosphere in a high level, and good energies, which were accompanied by a lovely musical performance. It is highly recommended !

Tl:dr Fantastic location, beautiful property, friendly service, don’t eat dinner here Gorgeous property! You’d never expect this from the outside. It’s very close to a street for ease of transportation so you won’t have to carry your luggage through the medina. Rooms are well appointed although our fridge didn’t work because it was difficult to plug in given the wood closet surrounding it. Bathrooms are nice, be warned there’s no shower curtain though Staff are friendly and helpful, they arranged a Medina guide for us upon request and it was a great experience Breakfast was good and we appreciated that the eggs were slightly different each day to provide some variety. We decided to have dinner here and I do have to say it was very disappointing for the price of 450 dh per person. The salad course was amazing with the array of different dishes but the main course and dessert felt like afterthoughts. The chicken tagine had cooled to almost room temperature by the time we ate it and was quite small. The pastilla was very plain and the custard was gluey. We had way better meals for 100dh per person in tiny towns in the Moroccan desert. Heck, probably the best chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life can be found at Cinema Cafe 2 blocks away for 120dh. I’m hoping that perhaps our experience was a one off but some prior reviews have mentioned the same thing. I have no problem paying more than the average dinner price as long as the quality is good but it honestly felt like we were being taken advantage of because we were traveling. Maybe it was also because we already had spent 10 days in the country eating fantastic food and had a lot to compare it to I really wanted to give this place a glowing review but our dinner experience just left us feeling really disappointed. I definitely thought we’d stay here again if we visited Fes but now I’m not so sure

Beautiful riad, traditional, beautiful, clean, and very friendly staff! The Moroccan hospitality here is top-notch. We only booked brunch, but it left us wanting more. I can't wait to stay here again in the future. The location is also truly perfect and easily accessible by taxi or car.

This Riad is an absolute gem. It was my first time in Fes, and like many, I spent a lot of time looking for a good place to stay, reading reviews, and researching while still not really knowing if I was picking the right place. Simply put, I feel like I stumbled upon a jackpot. I can't imagine having as good of a time in Fes if I hadn't stayed at Riad Moulay Driss. If you're planning a trip to Fes and reading this, book your stay here now. You won't regret it—I guarantee you will thank me. The location is perfect. The Medina is obviously where you want to stay and explore, but if you're not used to it, as I wasn't, it can be a bit of a maze, and you will probably get a little turned around. Riad Moulay Driss is in the Medina, right off one of the main streets. More importantly, and something I guarantee you will appreciate, is that it is near one of the perimeters and an impossible-to-miss landmark, the Blue Gate. Getting back will never be a hassle, and getting there from the airport or train station is much easier than reaching other places in the Medina. Besides the perfect location, this Riad is beautiful. It's a renovated family home, and the pictures don't do it justice—it's stunning! As I mentioned, this was a family home, and the family still owns and manages the Riad. They and their staff are incredible—very friendly, multilingual, and they will take great care of you! They can answer any of your questions and help you set up any tours you want to take, both in and out of town, at very reasonable prices. They're also super communicative before your trip and can help you arrange everything. If you're looking for a place in Fes, you've found it. You will love this place!
