This is one of the best 3 hotels in Fes and being Relais Chateaux made us think it was the best option to stay in. I must say I would not recommend staying at this hotel and I’m quite surprised Relais chateaux has accepted it. I am traveling with my father and we had explicitly asked for a room with 2 beds, upon arrival they told us they had given us a great room up in the rooftop when we got there it had a queen bed. We called reception and they admitted they knew about the 2 bed request but had given us that one their solution was to give us one room for one night and then we would have to change rooms again. They gave us a bigger room with 2 separate rooms and NO apology. It is a hassle to pack and unpack, so the next day they asked Ud to bring down our bags to what we answered no. We will leave the bags in the room and they will take care to moving around a the bags ( so obvious). When we arrived late afternoon from the tour they told us they had 2 room option a deluxe room or the royal suite - we chose the royal suite which was an amazing spacious room. Today in the morning there was no shampoo bottle at either bathroom (it had 2) and the scrub they place as a courtesy hadn’t been changed from the last guests so it wasn’t cleaned. Today in the morning more than 20 minutes to get scrambled eggs with only 2 other tables occupied, had to ask 3 times for them. At check out no apology. Service from front desk does not exist. I would not definitely not recommend this place as it does not hold up to Relais chateaux standards.

What started as a pleasant experience unfortunately turned sour due to the very unprofessional behavior of the staff. My sister, boyfriend, and I went to the rooftop to take a break from the heat and enjoy the view. At reception, we were informed that it was a 200 DHS per person voucher to enter, which we were fine with. My boyfriend paid using Apple Pay, the payment went through without issue, and we were given a receipt. At the end of our stay, we asked for the bill. I requested to pay by card, but the server told me “no, only cash, the machine is not working.” At that exact moment, I saw the couple in front of me paying by card with the same machine. I pointed this out, and the server then asked if I could pay half cash and half card. I declined, saying I wanted to pay by card only. That’s when he insisted the entire hotel does not accept Apple Pay. I explained that my boyfriend had already paid with Apple Pay at reception, but he didn’t believe me and stormed off to call downstairs. Reception confirmed what I had said, and he told us to meet him there. Once we went downstairs, we were met with extremely rude attitudes from the staff. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they made a huge issue out of us wanting to pay with Apple Pay. I completely understand if Apple Pay is not their preferred form of payment—but in that case, it should never have been accepted in the first place. To make matters worse, the woman working at reception immediately blamed her colleague for allowing Apple Pay, even though she had been sitting right next to him during the initial payment. The lack of communication among staff is not the guests’ fault, and it should never have been handled with such hostility. A simple clarification or polite explanation would have sufficed at the beginning of the experience about not using Apple Pay. The rude explanation they kept giving was that sometimes the payment does not go through with Apple Pay. I would strongly suggest the hotel improve staff communication and treat future guests with courtesy rather than rudeness.

Great authentic Riad right in the middle of the Medina (so great location within the Medina); the decor/design/architecture is magnificent; bed was very comfortable; pillows were great once we asked for more and firmer ones; water pressure excellent and very clean for a Medina property. The service was mostly very good - a couple small glitches. The gym had some older equipment that did not work so well; there were some issues with the automatic night lights but overall it was great. Incredibly well located right near the two main through ways through the Medina near the blue gate

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at this Riad, despite the many positive recommendations I received from friends. As a Moroccan who lives here and often visits riads across the country, I wanted to stop by for tea and to discover the place, especially since I regularly host international guests and like to scout new spots beforehand. However, upon arrival, I was told I couldn’t enter because there were tourists inside who “should not be disturbed.” I was dressed appropriately, polite, and clearly came to enjoy the place and spend time there, not to cause any inconvenience. I was instead directed straight to the rooftop, in the full heat of the afternoon, and told that I could only stay if I ordered something there. I wasn’t even allowed to take a quick look or photo inside. The reception was cold, unwelcoming, and quite frankly disrespectful. It’s a shame that such a beautiful place chooses to exclude locals under the pretext of preserving the experience for foreign tourists. If you are Moroccan, I don’t recommend visiting, unless you’re ready to be treated like an outsider in your own country. Disappointed and saddened by this kind of attitude.

Nice design but the worst food I had in the Medina so far , the sea bass is soooo dry like the desert . If you don't tip them so good you will not even get a bye or a smile from the stuff , I don't recommend for eating , go have a look and then go out type of place

Breakfast was exceptional and it felt more like being treated in a Michelin Star Restaurant. Very much impressed with the quality of food and presentation. The entire Riad is exceptionally beautiful with emphasis on privacy and never felt being in a hotel. Got upgraded to Calife Suite with private patio. No doubt, the best place to stay in the entire Medina of Fes !!! Rooftop bar was definitely a treat. Everything was perfect, from courteous staff at the front desk to restaurant team, all the time being treated like a royalty.

This place needs an intervention ! Beautiful interior but the service was questionable and not the best. They told us we could pay with Apple Pay and we did ! But at the end of the night when we wanted to pay the remainder (they make you pay with vouchers to go up on the rooftop if you’re not a guest) they told us we couldn’t and to pay half cash half Apple Pay then they said no Apple Pay !! We had to go downstairs and speak to manager. The team needs to have more meetings and better training to be on the same page. I’ve also noticed a lot of people share the same experience with customer service. Manager if you’re reading this it’s an easy fix! Shame the place is so ritzy and doesn’t have good customer service.

Stunning hotel in a good location of Fes. It is in the Medina and walking distance to anywhere you would want to see. The property is very nice as it is an original old palace. It is very elegant looking and the staff is very nice and accommodating. Breakfast is included and is simple but very good. However, with the property being older, there came some issues. The a/c wasn’t working in my parent’s room and they had to be moved and then moved again because the room was reserved the next day. We also heard other guests complaining about their a/c not working, which is unacceptable for such an expensive and nice hotel. Additionally we didn’t have hot water AT ALL during our stay but we didn’t mind because it was so hot out that it was nice to shower with cold water. Our fridge wasn’t working either. Spa was good. Nothing out of this world but nice to do. Overall it was a good stay, but would suck if your ac isnt working because the staff didn’t seem to care to do anything about it or even offer a compensation.
