SUSPECTED MEDICAL MALPRACTICE AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT SOS Medecins Maroc claimed they could administer the rabies vaccine to my then nine year old daughter. They sent a doctor to our house in Rabat on Sunday 14th September 2025. He gave her an injection with a huge needle into her stomach, claiming it was a rabies vaccine. We later found out that rabies vaccines in Morocco are only available from public health institutes, of which there is one in Rabat and one in Casablanca. There are also no rabies vaccines available to private doctors. We still do not know what my daughter was injected with: there are no human rabies vaccines which are injected into the stomach, and although I asked the doctor to leave me the vaccination packet he threw it away in the sharps box and refused to retrieve it. He later sent me an image of a vaccine box which, on closer inspection, was for an animal rabies vaccine. In retrospect we should have insisted that he stopped treatment as soon as we felt something was not right, but we were in panic and thought we could trust the doctor. This is all extremely dangerous. Not only do we not know what my daughter was really injected with, but we were given no advice about follow-up vaccinations, which are necessary for the rabies vaccine to be effective. Moreover, my daughter used to be quite comfortable with vaccinations but she now has an enduring terror of needles as a direct result of this experience, which is making other necessary routine vaccinations extremely traumatic. I emailed SOS Medecins Maroc on 13th October 2025 to ask what my daughter was injected with, lodge a formal complaint, and ask for a full investigation. I never received a response. To SOS Medecins - I have emailed you again, but to be clear, I require the name of the doctor who treated my daughter so that I can lodge a medical malpractice complaint with the regulator. I also require that you carry out a full investigation and review of your processes and safeguards so that no other patients are put at risk by your doctors.
