Heure Bleue Palais : Relais & Chateaux

Beautiful old time colonial style hotel with amazing staff! Beautiful rooms and rooftop terrace as well as pool, great location at the outer edge of the medina. But the staff was what made our stay truly outstanding - house keeping twice a day, little treats here and there and trying to accommodate to every single wish we had (vegetarian menu, transport etc.). Breakfast was also great with a huge selection of both sweet and salty foods. Definitely recommend staying here!

Everything about this property is charming. The location, the decor, and the ambience. However, it was the Christmas Eve dinner that was so unbelievably special. The chef had designed a Prix fixe menu. There was one item that I knew would not work for me. He found me in the lounge, sat down with me, discussed the menu, and change the second course for me! And that course was executed to perfection. I am a little bit in awe of the customer service that this hotel has provided. Truly memorable.

We had a great stay at Heure Blue Palais. The room was large and comfortable and the staff extremely helpful and friendly; arranging restaurants and activities for us when asked etc. The hotel is in a great location in the Medina but not too central so it is noisy at night. The colonial decoration is impressive and all facilities well looked after. Our only slight grumble was that there isn't a spa for guests to use unless you book a hammam/massage treatment. We feel this could have been made clearer when booking. Aside from that it is an excellent hotel.

First rate from arrival to departure. L'heure bleue is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The atmosphere is one of refinement without being stuffy. M. Molle has every reason to be proud of the professionalism and friendliness of his staff of all grades and position in the establishment. Our first visit to Essaouira and wont be the last.

Room is spectacular, best hotel in Essaouira we have visited this city many times and love it first time in this hotel and it's lovely. In a great spot by the walls of the medina. Rooftop pool.

So noisy! Rooms have zero sound proofing! If you stay here bring your earplugs because the structure of the hotel means your room is facing the courtyard and as soon as they start to prepare breakfast you get woken up. They also roll large trolleys past the rooms early in the morning which wakes you. They also allow smoking in the central courtyard which is not good as you are trying to eat. It's a real shame because they hotel is gorgeous and the pool area is so lovely and the location is great and the staff are great and the toiletries and very nice and i really liked the bed as well, although my partner found it too hard. Breakfast wasn't to my taste personally either. I don't know if I would stay again - the noise is a big deal for me but there are not many options around which look as nice inside.

The hotel was beautiful. The courtyard looked particularly lovely at night. Rooms were well appointed and very clean. The staff were incredibly helpful nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for the great welcome to Morocco.

My room was filthy. We checked out early. My sheets had various types of hair all over them—none mine. I doubt those sheets were laundered for my stay. Lots and lots of black dots on the sheets. I was praying they weren’t bed bugs. Tub had holes in its finish. My shower and my friends shower in next door room backed up with water. We had to take extremely quick showers. Rugs were filthy. My room smelled like old shellfish. It was disgusting. My socks had dead ants all over them from walking in the room. After walking the medina in the late evening, we returned to the hotel and asked the manager if we could find a bite to eat at the hotel. He said no, only room service at that time. Then we walked over to the bar area. We finally located the unhappy attendant and ordered a drink and some pastillas. There was food available, albeit a light menu. The manager didn’t seem to know this or just didn’t care. Additionally, as the location would suggest in the medina, this is a loud hotel nearly all night. Can hear voices, dogs barking. We cannot believe R&C put its name on this hotel. We checked out a day early, paying a penalty, but happy to begin the process of erasing its memory. This is not a hotel for travelers who have a standard for cleanliness.
