Residence Chay - Appartement a Ouarzazate

The apartment is conveniently located right next to the airport. It's about a 10-minute walk if you decide not to take a taxi. The route is straightforward, so you won't get lost. We had a smooth check-in upon arrival; the receptionist welcomed us, and after paying the city tax, we were escorted to our room. The rooms were spacious and clean. We stayed there on two separate occasions—first on our arrival and then again after returning from Marrakech. Both stays were pleasant, and we encountered no issues. There's a restaurant just downstairs where you can order food to your room. The restaurant operates long hours, so you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but please note that they only accept cash payments. A supermarket is just a few minutes away for your daily needs, and you can easily flag down a taxi from outside the apartment to head to the main square. The taxi fare is a standard flat rate of 5 dirhams per person. On our return trip from Marrakech, we were given room number 1. However, we had an issue with the bathroom flooding due to a blocked drain. The only two negative aspects I can highlight about both apartments (1 and 2) are that the AC units are only in the bedrooms, not in the lounge area, which made it uncomfortable to sit and watch TV, especially with temperatures reaching almost 44°C. Additionally, during our return visit, the room had many flies (I killed six using a towel), which made it difficult to sleep as they kept buzzing around my ear. Despite these small issues, overall, I was very pleased with my stay. The receptionist always went out of their way to assist us and answered all my questions. I would definitely consider staying at Residence Chay again. Thank you!

I really liked staying there. Everything is beautiful and available. Even if you want information about anything, you can find it there in the reception center. It's a really great thing for me.

Same-day reservation for the evening. Impeccably clean, generous breakfast served at the café at the foot of the building: hot drink, orange juice, pastries, omelet. The building's concierge is very shy, which makes communication a little difficult, but we had everything we needed. Upon arrival, there were no towels; we asked for them, and upon returning from dinner, brand-new towels (still with the tags) were delivered to us. Good experience.

The location is a bit far from everything, cleanliness leaves much to be desired, the apartments offer no soundproofing, and the café below is excessively noisy, with TVs blasting until at least 11 pm. Then at 6 am they move the tables and chairs, creating an unbearable racket. There was a nauseating smell in one of the rooms (they cleaned and wet one of the rugs, which gave off a horrible odor). The bed linens were dirty, with yellow stains on the sheets and pillows. There were a few cockroaches in the apartment, and the kitchen utensils were very limited. In short, they could do better for the price! The Wi-Fi and TV don't work properly; they cut out every 5 minutes. The Wi-Fi and TV are unreliable, as the antenna has no signal. The only positive points are the reception and the restaurant, which are excellent.

The worst apartment I've ever stayed in while traveling. Absolutely filthy. Dirty sheets, sofas reeking of cigarette smoke. There was even a pigeon's nest on the balcony with its chicks. You can imagine the state of the balcony... I've never seen anything like it, it was unbelievable. It shows how little hygiene is a priority here. The worst part was the cockroaches. I can still see them running everywhere. Horrible. I truly had two awful nights. The worst. The Wi-Fi is really bad. It cuts out constantly. Honestly, go somewhere else, it's better for you.

We were 4 adults. We stayed 2 nights. We will definitely come back. Great welcome.

I went to eat at the residence restaurant, a real treat! The service and welcome were attentive and pleasant, I recommend it.
