Riad Lyon-Mogador

Simply an amazing place to enjoy Essaouira and to relax. We loved the room and the Riad as it was super comfy. The breakfast was delicious with a mix of Moroccan pancakes, fruits and French pastry. I must highlight the roof terrace perfect for escaping town and enjoying the sun and breeze; everyday they serve breakfast up there, which makes a great way to start your day. Jerome and the staf were very friendly and helpful, giving us tips to enjoy the town. We look forward to come back to Essaouira and stay with them again.

My wife and I (31 & 35 years old) stayed here for two nights on our two week road trip through Morocco. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the owners are so nice. When you arrive at this place the owners will give you lots of recommendations of where to eat and what to do in the area, we really enjoyed breakfast on the roof with a lovely view of the sea. As we were staying here at the end of our trip, the owners helped us with our laundry. They charged us 30 MAD per kilo. We parked our car for free at the nearby hospital and walked about 10 minutes to the hotel. Although the hotel is in the middle of the medina, it is very easy to find. I would definitely stay here again.

We spent 1 night here for family vacation in Marocco (August, 2022). Our experience is wonderful. I do love the smell inside the Riad. Don't forget to bring a jacket since the Riad is near the beach. It is very cold. Everything is in walking distance from the Riad. City tax will be collected by the host, 25 MAD per person (more than 12 years old). Pros: 1. The host is very kind, nice, and helpful. 2. The location is inside the medina. It can only be reached by walking. If you come by car, you must park your car outside the gate. Mogador has 4 gates. Everything is in walking distance. 3. The breakfast is good. We have traditional Moroccan's bread, hot milk for the kids, jams, butter, fresh fruits salad, fresh orange juice, and croissant. 4. The room is as described. The size is okay. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The bathroom is clean with its amenities (towels, shampoo, soap, parfum. The hot water works perfectly. 5. The check-in is fast. They just need the adults' passports and fill a paper. 6. The rooftop is top. The view is amazing. 7. The Riad has 4 floors and everything's very beautiful, well-decorated, and cozy. 8. Wifi is accessible inside the building and free. 9. No need ac since the weather is cold, I am not sure in the winter. Cons: 1. Entrance accessible for wheelchair, but to get upstairs only by stairs. 2. The wifi isn't accessible on the rooftop terrace.

Lovely, elegant and comfortable riad in prime location with excellent breakfast and wonderful hospitality! Make sure to spend time on the terrace and enjoy the view! The hosts are kind, helpful and give you great recommendations for Essaouira. Highly recommend.

Excellent stay. The owners of the Riad are wonderful! They gave us great local tips and recommendations. The Riad is beautiful, the decor is amazing, and the rooms are very clean. The breakfasts are delicious.

Although we have been upgraded into a comfort room,but it is not comfortable at all. I felt was been locked in a tiny box. HALLALA, For me, it is a super small standard room, because it only has around 40cm distance around the bed. My carrying on luggage barely can be opened at the room. I have to close my luggage each time, in order to be able to walk to the WC. Beside the price we booked 599Dhs+service fees (in cash)through the hotel website directly at the end is cost more than the booking.com(since it always has updated promotion in booking.com ).We also took the dinner there by no choice, 180dhs per person(180Dhs which you can get a very nice meal for 2person in a great restaurant around), it is too experience for such a simple dish, I have more potatoes in the whole year from this dish. We also paid 70Dhs extra for the parking to the parking lot.

A very beautiful riad with lots of charm. A lovely terrace with a sea view, perfect for enjoying a delicious breakfast and relaxing. The rooms may seem small, but it's not a problem if you're only there to sleep. The hosts and staff were very welcoming. Ideally located in the medina. We would definitely stay at this riad again when we return to Essaouira.
