RIAD EL PACHA رياض الباشا

They gave us a price when we first arrived but after showing us the room, they increased the price and said that we had heard wrong. They also told us we can pay with a credit card and then as we were going to pay, they told us cash only. The breakfast was very small and they gave us old food. Tourists beware, they scam you in this riad!! Better to book an apartment!! EDIT: in reply to the owner's comment below, we know exactly where we stayed, RIAD EL PACHA, so this review is definitely in the correct place, they're trying to confuse the reader. Tourists beware!!!

The riad is new and beautiful, the rooms are very well-equipped, and the location is good. The only thing I didn't like was that there was no one to control the noise at night. We couldn't sleep because of the noise they were making; people were coming and going late into the night, and one morning there were people asleep in the breakfast area. We couldn't sleep, and at 3 a.m. I had to go downstairs, but they were still having a party, and there was no one to control it. The next day I spoke about this at reception, and they acted surprised, although I don't think they were, because the same people who were having the party the night before were coming out of the hotel kitchen. If it weren't for that, the riad would be perfect.

An exceptionally kind and helpful host! The rooms are comfortable and very clean! The riad's location is perfect for exploring on foot, whether in the medina or to any of the other sights! I will definitely book El Pacha again!

The service was appalling. We arrived and they didn't offer us tea. Then, apparently, there was a "reservation problem." Only one double room was booked, so we called the owner who told us it was a "double booking" issue. We agreed, but he should help us find another riad. He found one for us, a little more expensive than the Pacha, and after visiting this riad, which was very nice, we naturally asked him to pay the difference between the two, as we weren't going to pay more, knowing it wasn't our fault. He refused! He wasted an hour of our time, as well as that of our friends who were waiting for us at the other riad. So, I strongly advise against staying there.

We arrived at 7 pm. We had booked two rooms by phone, but only one was available. The receptionist wasn't very talkative and told us to call the owner. He explained that there had been a double booking and found us another riad, but it was a bit more expensive. When I asked him to cover the difference, he refused, saying he had found us another room, and he got angry. Meanwhile, our friends waited for us at the riad for an hour without tea or anything. Luckily, we received a very warm welcome at the new riad with a smile (and tea!).
