What people mention
It was a brief stay and this Riad is lost in a sea of alleys in an old part of town, with a very unassuming entrance. If you are familiar with riads, you will know they have a central open air court yard, to funnel the warm air up and out and allow cooling air to stay at the bottom. On each floor are rooms off the central column. Riad BE has and exceptionally beautiful court yard with a plunge pool. There is also a roof top area where you can relax, have a drink. Sit in the sun or undercover, have a bite to eat or a drink. It's all very calming and stylish. They take card and cash, which is always handy, as plenty of places in Marrakech are cash only.
We were a little disappointed with our stay at Riad Be. The room we stayed in had a door which was so faulty you had to practically shoulder charge it to get in or out. Our room also didn’t have any windows. On our last night, we booked dinner at the hotel for 6:30pm. When we arrived, there was no record of our booking and the waiter told us the food would not be ready until 7:30pm. We then saw staff carrying in Tagine’s which appeared to have just been bought from a restaurant down the road. The Riad itself was tired and run down. That being said, the staff were pleasant and the massage and Hammam was excellent. Compared to other Riads we have stayed in in Marrakech, this one was very disappointing. For the price, there are better options.
I DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. I had an incredible experience. I had a three hour reservation for a hammam, massage, and lunch. I ended up staying for seven hours because I didn’t want to leave and I loved the place. The hammam and massage were comfortable experiences that were both very relaxing. I was able to enjoy both breakfast food and lunch, and all of the food was delicious and served by charming staff. The employees were warm, welcoming, pleasant, fun, and made the experience exceptional. The pictures speak for themselves, but the facility was elegant, comfortable, and made a perfectly relaxing atmosphere.
Awful Service and Run Down Hotel - The worst experience we had in Marrakesh. We visited this Riad in July 2019 for our anniversary lunch after seeing its stunning photos on Instagram. ( it looks nothing like the photos) Upon arriving, we were greeted with an exceptionally rude and unprofessional man on reception. Following this, we were told there was no menu for lunch and that we could only order one of three things. Priced at €80. Probably the highest quoted lunch anywhere in Marrakesh! Do not be fooled by the professional photos taken of this hotel - the service is shabby, unprofessional and the hotel requires a full refurbishment. There’s are lots of fantastic Riads in Marrakesh - unfortunately this one is definitely not one.
We had the pleasure of meeting Mehdi who spoke perfect english and was an excellent and friendly manager. Although we were not able to stay at the riad as it was completely booked out, walking around the riad was a dream. Every corner a visual feast! The location is a little away from the hustle and bustle of souk (approx 10mins walk) and the neighbourhood feels more local and less touristy. Highly recommend it not only because of the Instagram worthy photos but also the friendliness of the management. One thing to note is the venue definitely is more hip and full of young people around the common area taking pictures (becuase it is so beautifully done!), so may not be suitable if you are after a tranquil retreat.
The place is gorgeous and very well located... a steaight walk to and from the main square of Jamaa el Fnaa. Mohammed was very attentive; he provided a map with recommendations that made for a fantastic stay in Marrakech. On top of that, Amin is such a wonderful soul; he even helped us figure out how to get to our next destination when he bumped on us on the street after we had checked out. The breakfast is second to none, too.
The place itself is great, very nice designed rooms, we had our dinner thier & the food was testy.. Hotel is located in the old market, the location is really not good, and that's why we rated it 4..
Awesome staff and riad! Very very friendly team, the riad is like a small calm oasis in the middle of the Medina. Be is the place to be...
