Restaurant Fnara

It was our last day in Fes and used up our Dirham and wanted to find a place that took card. One of the street scammers insisted that his restaurant took card, after which he led us to this restaurant where we were served by an overly friendly waiter. Again confirming that this place is happy for us to take card. The meal was mediocre at best, and plenty of other restaurants in the Medina were cheaper and far better. Over £40 for 3 dishes and a soup. Once done, the server insisted we pay by cash, and that they had no card machine, that we should follow him to an ATM to draw money out at 1am in the morning. We refused, offering to pay in other currencies (GBP, EUR) after which they wanted the money at an exchange rate that they conjured up instead of the official cost. A scam, and has soured our experience in Morocco.

Super nice staff and good food!

We were led there by someone in the street, because it was rather late and a lot of places were closed so we were grateful for the help (and tipped ofc) However, the service was nice but very long, they didn't clean the table before serving us and we had to wait an hour for our two dishes 😢 The food was okay but more expensive than other restaurants

After tasting some other restaurants in Fes, this one seems like a tourist trap: the food is not spectacular (Moroccan salad composed of many various tiny salads, but these are not really seasoned, just chopped veggies; the tagines and couscous plates have a lot of rice and couscous and not a lot content), overpriced (120 dirham per dish :/) and the atmosphere not very authentic. I would recommend to go elsewhere.
