I was there for one night on business for a company conference. At first glance, the hotel looks outdated from the outside. Inside, however, a lot of effort had been put into renovations, some of which were still underway. The hotel complex consists of several buildings connected by corridors. For our conference, we regularly had to walk along long corridors… The staff was very friendly, and the catering during the conference was okay but not outstanding. On the second day of the conference, our conference snack was completely forgotten and only improvised after we asked for it. The rooms were okay. Breakfast in the newly renovated restaurant and bar area was generous and good. Apparently, bathrooms weren't included in the original plans for all rooms, so they were added later. As a result, the bathroom was tiny; you had to open the door to even stretch out your arm while drying yourself… The bed was clean and comfortable. I had a two-room suite in the main building. The advantage, of course, was being able to sleep in the cool and then get dressed in the warm… The furnishings were new, but didn't leave a lasting impression.

Fourteen years ago, we celebrated my husband's 50th birthday at the mountain hotel and were thrilled; everything was wonderful. We also went there for cycling in the summer. Now my husband wanted to treat himself to the hotel again. Despite the swimming pool and sauna, we're no longer impressed. The parking fees are exorbitant. At check-in, no dinner options were offered, which was quite different in the past. So we ended up eating at the Sterngrund restaurant, which certainly wasn't what we had in mind when booking. We miss the hotel's former staff. It's a shame; perhaps we would have stayed longer, but as it was, we didn't feel the need to.

The service was really good and everyone was incredibly friendly! BUT We booked the hotel through Booking.com. I had called beforehand to ask if we needed to mention our 5-month-old baby, as we were traveling with them. We were told it wasn't necessary and that we should simply book a double room. However, after booking, we received an email informing us that we would be getting an apartment, which cost an additional €30 per night. (Cancellation was no longer possible; we would have had to pay 100%.) Regarding the apartment: The biggest problem for us was that it was located in a separate building (not in the main building we had booked). We were then forced to walk with our baby and luggage through the rain and snow across the parking lot to reach the main building, where breakfast, the pool, etc., were located. As a result, we didn't really use these facilities. Furthermore, the building where we were staying was under construction at the time. It was absolutely not worth the price we paid! We are more than disappointed and, frankly, quite angry. €525 for 3 nights, accommodation only. On top of that, there's an €8 parking fee per day. The price-performance ratio was absolutely unacceptable! We would never vacation there again.

The hotel is clean. The food is absolutely terrible and cheap. The dinner buffet... a joke. The pool is gorgeous ❤️ but it's very small and has limited opening hours 😌. It's only open in the very early morning. This hotel is not worth the money.

A very nice hotel with clean, beautifully furnished rooms and friendly staff. Fitness classes are offered every morning. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We would gladly return.

Beautiful rooms and a fantastic spa area with a saltwater pool. However, there are long distances to walk within the hotel and between rooms in separate buildings. Breakfast costs an extra €50 for two people per day; I recommend booking it in advance. Bathrobe and towel service is €10 per person, and the hotel's parking is €14 per day. All in all, there are too many extra charges, which is frustrating. It would be better to offer a reasonable overall price upfront instead of charging extra here and there. The bar is very well-stocked and the service is excellent, but unfortunately, it was also too expensive for me. All in all, it's like St. Moritz prices in Thuringia.

Light and shadow are closely intertwined: a wonderfully quiet room on the third floor of the main building, a large sauna in the basement, and a generous breakfast. The bathroom is only suitable for very slim people, at least if you want to use the shower. And the "dining room"—based on my experience that morning, I decided to skip dinner there. In the former East Germany, these enormous dining halls with their train station atmosphere were apparently called "FDGB holidays." The Trabant, proudly displayed as the hotel's "symbol," would certainly support this.
