Dar Yasmine

Mixed review for this one. Starting on a positive note, this place is central. Close to the kasbah, petit/grand socco, shopping alleys. Parking too is 2 mts away. On the flip side, the room is old, moldy and the stench from the bathroom was unbearable if the drain was open.

The riad is located in a very busy part of town and, more importantly, directly next to a mosque. As a result, we were woken at 4:00 AM by the call to prayer and the prayer itself. There is no air conditioning.

the worst experience at a reception in my life. I had a great day in Morocco, but unfortunately the receptionist ruined everything from the great experiences. I had to leave the hotel at 6:30 a.m. because of my flight. I waited briefly at the reception and then a sleepy man came. I said I still had to pay the city tax and wanted to pay it with a card. He immediately aggressively said that he wouldn't accept a card for the amount of 40 dirhams. I said that I would then pay 4 euros. He didn't like that. After a phone call he literally kicked me out of the hotel. Sorry Morocco, but someone is destroying the reputation of this beautiful city.  Feedback

We stayed at this place for three nights as part of our honeymoon trip and we didn’t really enjoy our stay for the reasons below: - We arranged a pickup from the airport with them but the driver dropped us 400 meters away from the place and we had to drag our luggages on the busy and uneven pavement in a place we’ve never been before. Then we figured he could actually come inside Medina and park in front of the road. The Dar manager( I think her name was Hannah came and asked us how was our experience which we really appreciate it.) - There was a mosque right next to this Dar and it was very loud. Every morning we woke up at 5am due to the prayer call so we were tired the entire day. There was no way to rest or relax there as there was a call 5 times a day. This needs to be mentioned in the description of the hotel on Expedia, the same way it was on the desk inside the room, which is already too late to know. - On the second day, as we were getting ready to go for breakfast at 8am we were talking and laughing ( as all honeymooners do), we heard a “hush” noise and then we got a knock on our door. Someone from the reception at the door told us to be quiet as it is early in the morning. I’ve never had anyone knocking on my hotel room door saying to be quite in my entire life. 8AM is not early and trust me when I tell you everyone is already up due to the mosque anyways. This also shows that the walls are paper thin in this very old building, as we were also hearing everything happening around us. Sometimes we even doubted whether the window was open or something. - The room was clean but due to the nature of the flooring (bricks) there were lots of stains all over the floor which made it look very gross. - The bathroom was very tight. You have to move to every direction sitting on the toilet. The garbage lid couldn’t even be opened, the toilet paper was almost unreachable and you had to hold it in your hand. - There was no soap dispenser and we had to leave the soap on the sink which was not very sanitary. There was shampoo but no conditioner or shower gel. - The room barely had any amenities. There was no closet and only one small table, we had to leave our things all over the place. The good things about the place were: - Breakfast was delicious. - The shower was nice with hot water. - Air conditioner was weird to manage but it was great and worked properly. Overall, I would not recommend this place if you are a couple or honeymooners. If you’re on a budget and traveling solo and just need a bed this place might work for you.

I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. My girlfriend and i had a wonderful 4 night stay in Tangier at Dar Yasmine. When we arrived, we were greeted pleasantly by the manager Hanane. She arranged for us to have a guided tour by the excellent Mohammed (highly recommend asking for him), as well as a trip to the Hercules caves and Chefchouen. At the end of our trip, I mistakenly forgot my phone, but Hanane went out of her way to ensure it was mailed back to me - a truly kind gesture. I would also say that the facilities were clean and well-staffed. As for the call to prayer - while some of these reviewers did not enjoy the call to prayer, I found it to be a unique cultural experience. Isn't that why people travel? If you are pressed for time, I would opt to do the Tangier walking tour with Mohammed, and secondly, to take a trip to Chefchouen. Our favorite restaurant experience was at restaurant Kebdani, followed by Le Salon Bleu. Highly recommend trying the Tajine at both of these places.

The Dar is nice, and the noise from the mosque isn't too bad and to be expected. But the sound proofing of the rest of the house is awful awful awful. You could hear doors and people in every other room in the building.

Great quality customer service, an attention to detail, and very comfortable sheets 😍 Breakfast very delicious, top views stunning, a great spot to feel Tangier in all it's beauty. Highly recommend it. …

Terrible hotel.. I prefer to not to go there.. Service is disgusting
