Taza Haut

Taza Haut is one of Morocco's hidden gems, a place where breathtaking mountain views, authentic heritage, and centuries of history come together. Perched above the modern city, its ancient medina overlooks the famous Taza Gap, the strategic passage between the Rif and Middle Atlas Mountains that made Taza a key crossroads for successive Moroccan dynasties. The Almohads fortified the city in the 12th century and built its magnificent Great Mosque, which still stands today as one of Morocco's oldest Almohad monuments. Taza Haut offers a unique blend of history, tranquility, and genuine Moroccan hospitality that leaves every visitor with unforgettable memories.

Taza is an ancient city in Morocco, clean, calm, safe, cold in winter and hot in summer.......it has valuable historical and tourist monuments ...... but unfortunately they are not being used properly.

I stopped in Bab Tété and I don't regret it. I discovered the interesting history and the beauty of everyday life in this place. Don't hesitate to talk to the locals, and you'll most likely receive a wonderfully warm welcome. That's how I learned how rosewater and Moroccan bread are made, not to mention the kindness of all the people I met, whether for a short time or a longer visit.
