Riad Dar Ory

Darory in Arabic means must and you really must consider staying at this beautiful riad. It's very laid back, staff is super friendly and the level of cleanliness was remarkable. The rooms are spacious and the overall vibe of the place is dope. The location is also terrific. Zero complaints, highly recommended.

Great location and friendly owner, but that's where the positives end. Absolutely no organization! The rooms weren't clean, with dust and hair in the shower, and the cleaning was never done during our stay! There were no bins in the rooms or bathrooms; we had to take our rubbish home with us. Doors that don't close properly. Not to mention the cleanliness of the common areas, which needs improvement—no cleaning at all, it's unacceptable. Laundry was haphazardly hung out to dry on the rooftop, etc. The owner is alone in handling reception, cleaning, etc. It's impossible. They need to hire someone! Look to the right when you go up to the rooftop; the cushions are the same on the rooftop, etc. Breakfast really needs improvement. Two tables for everyone, one of which is in the sun, for five or six rooms—that's not right. And not enough chairs for everyone, so we sat on whatever we could find. We shared sugar, etc., with the other guests—I've never seen anything like it. This isn't a holiday guesthouse! Tables not cleaned, same for the cutlery. A lady was there to help with breakfast, thankfully! CATASTROPHIC We've been going to Morocco for 20 years, and staying in riads requires domestic staff for them to function properly. We're giving it 2 stars when it deserves 1. But the riad has just opened; we hope they'll make the necessary corrections and that we'll return under better circumstances.
