Hotel Les Merinides

A 5-star hotel in Fez, its strong point is its location, in a perfect panoramic spot from which to admire the medina and the entire city. The rooms are a bit dated and have some issues, but still comfortable. There's a lovely pool, a nice terrace with bar service, and a good but not exceptional buffet restaurant.

NOT a 5 star. Has a view, that’s all. Booked for 3 nights, stayed only one. Had to insist on changing rooms in the middle of the night due to severe sewage odour which seemed to be coming from the air conditioner. Second room just as bad. Nauseating. Rooms full carpet, musty smell. Bathrooms in need of renovation. Staff were blah, unwelcoming on arrival and unapologetic when we checked out early. Dinner was awful. Breakfast basic buffet. Pool area in need of renovation.

Visited with family for hot drinks and snacks, whilst enjoying the view. Les Merinides is perched on top of a hill which offers clear panoramic views of Fes. Getting a taxi to and from the hotel was easy. Just outside the hotel is a small garden where locals come to enjoy the views. Will be staying here for our next visit to Fes!

I stayed here with my mom for 3 days. Definitely not a 5 ⭐️hotel at all. They kept switching off the Wifi and every time we asked them they would mislead us by saying they had technical issues, this happened over 7 times! The phone and the TV weren’t working either, they were put there like decoration. We would have stayed more but the room was dusty and dirty, the staff were very uncooperative and overall inattentive. The situation was unbearable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, it’s a waste of money.
