Excellent Riad. A gorgeous and luxurious Riad so well appointed and decorated. Service was excellent and rooms were great. We were there with 2 little kids and they set up little beds for them nicely. Rooftop area to relax and views were phenomenal. It was like staying in a museum away from the Medina’s hustle bustle while being right in it.

Best hotel in Fez! We considered also the Riad Fes (Relais & Chateaux). The service is excellent, the breakfasts are divine, the grounds are spectacular, with access to the study and the library which are lovely sanctuaries. And the rooms are delightful. The architect and owner's wife spared no expense and invested in fixtures and decorations that made the Riad a palace more than a hotel. The private SUV with WiFi that they provided for excursions was an extension of the elegance and service at this fine hotel. Staying at Riad Karawan made our visit to Fez memorable!

Beautiful boutique hotel in Fes. The restoration was done in the very detailed manner, you can feel how the owners had taken careful step to restore the historic building. I loved the breakfast in the courtyard. Service was great, staffs were friendly and accommodating. I wish I could have stayed there longer.

The riad is located inside the medina not far at all from the only road entering the old city. The building itself is beautifully decorated from top to bottom with a peaceful courtyard and a stunning terrace. The room are spacious, very comfortable and inspiring with a lot of books about Morocco, Arabo-Andalous design The food at the restaurant is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The guides who work with the riad are very knowledgable about the history of Fès. I highly recommend this place.

Morocco is known for its attention to detail in culinary arts, as gastronomy is a traditional part of the culture. In Fez, fine dining can be found at Karawan Restaurant, an authentic Moroccan restaurant located in the Karawan Riad. Chef Outhmane prepares a variety of gourmet food for the discerning diner, elegantly combining Moroccan and Mediterranean flavors. I had the pleasure of dining at Karawan one evening for dinner, and I was pleased with the level of service, the quality and freshness of the food, and the elegance of the restaurant’s setting. The wait staff was very attentive, and each course was promptly delivered to my table. The atmosphere was relaxed yet inviting, with modern details that enhance the aura of luxury. I started with amuse bouche of escargot. It was light and buttery, a delicious texture and perfectly cooked. Next I tried a tart of chicken, aubergine and cheese, which was baked until lightly crisped and the chicken browned. The combination of the ripe aubergine with the chicken gave the dish a hearty complexity that was satisfying and comforting. For my main dish, I had fresh trout, with broccoli, red pepper and seasoned mashed potatoes. The fish was excellent, and the produce fresh. The mashed potatoes were creamy and fluffy and had the right amount of seasoning. For dessert, I enjoyed lemon cream with a freshly made raspberry sauce. Not too sweet but just a beautiful blend of tart and subtle sweetness. A delicious way to end a wonderful meal. Everything about the Karawan Restaurant is highly recommended. Whether you’re staying at the riad, or just looking for an upscale yet relaxing dining experience, Karawan is the way to go. The restaurant incorporates the finest parts of Moroccan cuisine, and blends with the rich culture of the world’s oldest medina in Fez.

Fantastic, well crafted guest house with wonderful attention to detail. Very clean, modern and comfortable. A real gem of a location. We will book here again, certainly!!
