Appalling!!! An utterly unbearable individual, vulgar, greedy, self-important, arrogant… In short, a shameless, toxic person, a typical poisoner… To begin with, after offering me a taxi from Agadir airport early in the morning, there was no taxi available. Despite three long phone calls, this monster clearly amused himself for two hours by making me believe his driver was arriving, before I finally decided to take a taxi myself. Once I arrived, he had locked the hotel door and pretended not to hear the very loud knocking on the door, nor my calls. I asked the neighbors for help, but they didn't even bother to answer me, so hated does this individual seem to be and so much a nuisance to (at least) his neighbors, if not the entire city. The key to my room was an object of ill intent. The sheets were no good: they were as rough and unpleasant as the manager's character. WORSE: The toilets were unspeakable!!! The toilet bowl was not only covered in disgusting stains, clearly embedded in the plastic, but it was also broken in one spot, and anyone sitting on it was bound to hurt themselves (see photos). When I told the owner this, and asked him to come and see for himself, he said he was aware of the problem and added, with a mixture of extreme insolence, staggering contempt, and malice, that if I really wanted, he would give it a coat of paint (on a broken plastic toilet bowl!). There is clearly an intent not only to shock but to injure others. Unbelievable!!! Furthermore, since the pool is under construction, the constant noise of a saw or a drill can be heard. Finally, the environment is extremely dusty, surrounded by construction sites and foul-smelling vacant lots where passing vehicles kick up tons of dust. Even the Wi-Fi password is surprising and embarrassing! And, to top it all off, the Wi-Fi doesn't work! Don't go there under any circumstances! This individual is utterly despicable, clearly—and rightly so—hated by the locals whom he taunts, like all those neo-colonialists who take advantage of the locals' tolerance, kindness, poverty, and unemployment. Consequently, you won't find any help in his neighborhood. Especially since the city of Taroudant is anything but exciting. This establishment should definitely no longer be listed on booking sites like Booking.com and others.

Unfortunately the host never answered the door so we never got in! We were knocking on the door (lots of cat poo in front of the door) and calling/messaging on Whatsapp and Booking.com for about an hour trying to work out what was going on. He never responded. We had to find alternative accommodation after 9:30pm which was stressful and frustrating. However there are other lovely places with lovely staff within a short walk so I would recommend finding some other place to stay where this won't happen. Told Booking.com and they weren't helpful.

Yves is a great man. He gave us very good advices to improve our road trip. The Riad is a nice place, everything is made by his hands. Highly recommended for backpackers!

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED! I have to give 1 star because I can't give 0. Owner under influence of alcohol. Dirty rooms. Two cockroaches noticed during 30 minutes in the "hotel". Aggressive dog. The icing the cake was a pig in the dining room.

A host who took excellent care of us. A bike ride through the souk with music blasting, the children in the back seats. An unforgettable moment. A minor issue: the shower had a problem, fluctuating between very hot and very cold. Breakfast was good and plentiful; it was one of the best breakfasts we had during our trip. Thank you to Yves for his warm welcome.

Yves gave us an incredibly warm welcome! He gave us all the tips and great places to visit the city. The riad is a bit dated but beautifully decorated and very green, a little oasis in the middle of the city. And the meals, especially the tagine and breakfast, were fantastic! Go without hesitation! Positive points: close to the city center yet in a secluded location, helpful advice and a warm welcome from the French owner, a good-sized swimming pool, and the overall aesthetic appeal. Negative points: no lunch options available, only one dish served in the evening, and given the number of rooms (at least 10), it's more like a hotel than a guesthouse. The call to prayer at 5:00 AM is perfectly audible.
