Staying at a Riad can sometimes be a misleading experience where the photos look better than the place itself. It is unusual when one finds that reality is even better than listes - and boy is it the case with the Repose! Jan and Rachid are the warmest, most welcoming hosts you can imagine - and then some. Nothing is too demanding, and they go out of their way to accommodate your every whim. The place is immaculately clean, with a truly Moroccan style to it but with a modern touch. I absolutely fell in love with the mosaic centrepiece - it is truly a work of art. It commands price of place and everything else seems to flow around it.. The food - this is not a place where you get the standard run of the mill food - this is more like a Michelin restaurant with one of those chefs who seems to create not only sublime tasty food, but a spectacle for the eye too. Truly creative, unusual food, which changes every day, but presented with a lot of flair. I have several allergies but nothing was too much to ask for! It shows when the staff are happy - they not only are ready to help - but seem to anticipate your needs before you have them! Rooms are comfortable and well thought out - they have been fitted with all the modern necessities such as air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms - but without disrespecting the age and history of the old building! Cons - none, except that I suggest you do not do as I did and drive into the street where the Repose is - the road is wide enough form the port side but then narrows to and path just over a meter wide. So just park the car at the guarded car park at the begining of the street on the main road on the waterside - 20 MAD covers parking for one night with a guardian. So a truly beautiful and happy place - a place that becomes a highlight of your holiday - Well Done!

This vegetarian hotel/riad is amazing. We dined every night on seemingly endless five course meals that were entirely vegan. Very cosy and beautifully decorated. We loved eating breakfast on the terrace each morning too. Excellent service and excellent cooks. We were also given a phone with WhatsApp to conveniently request things if needed. Highly recommend staying here.

The decor is very charming. The owner is very helpful. She went well out of her way to facilitate our travel, which we greatly appreciated. The beds are firm and small. The showers do not offer consistent water temperature. The food served is all vegetarian. Meals are generally rather sparse.

I do not recommend this place. The food was tasteless at best. They charged us about $50 US for a dinner that would have been about $6. The setup would be okay if they had used a sensible warm LED lighting. Basically a tourist trap.

Lovely stay, nice staff, comfortable room and tasty breakfast.

A typical Moroccan house, unfortunately poorly maintained, really very dirty. The sink, shower, and toilet weren't cleaned in the three rooms we occupied with my parents and sisters. There were dirt stains and limescale. The carpets in the rooms were full of dust, stains, and hair. And don't even get me started on the location; it's inaccessible by car. The street is narrow and the neighborhood is creepy. We felt uneasy. We only stayed one night because we were exhausted from the journey. Many of the staff didn't seem to be cleaning. The two stars are for the building's decor and the two women who helped carry our luggage. They said it was a 5-minute walk, but it turned out to be a 15-minute walk from the nearest accessible location. We were disappointed, and what's more, the photos and reality didn't reflect that. We couldn't even shower because it was so dirty, and we slept poorly. The only tips we received were from the young women who helped with our luggage.

If you're looking to escape the city while staying close by, in a magical and incredibly welcoming place, I highly recommend Le Repose! It truly lives up to its name; you'll feel completely at ease, to say the least. Just bring your suitcase, Jan will take care of everything! She's incredibly attentive and magically disappears so you feel right at home! The view from the terrace is breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of Salé and Rabat and the harmonious sounds of the Adhan from the surrounding mosques. And the rooms are simply stunning, each with its own unique and sophisticated style. Come and discover them for yourself!

A magnificent riad for spending the night in Sale. Excellent service. They explain everything you need to know about exploring Sale and Rabat. Themed rooms are beautifully decorated. Located in the heart of the Sale medina, but with nearby parking available. A very good breakfast is included. An optional vegetarian dinner is available for €20. It was good, but too expensive for me. Booking.com states they accept credit cards, but they don't. You need to bring cash.
