Bad food and cold rooms. Don't recommend.
This riad, exceeded my expectations: - super clean - fantastic breakfast with quality ingredients (omelette, fresh fruit, msemen, pancake, yogurt, 2 different fresh juices, coffee, tea) - the best compared to 2 other 5 star hotels and another riad, during our trip - spacious room, nicely decorated, functional and clean bathroom - oasis of tranquility - friendly & helpful staff - nearby parking and walking distance from sightseeing spots
I had a great experience. The room was very large, and a bit dated. The breakfast is incredible. The service provided by the staff is also exceptional. My only main complaint would be the location is out of the way, and there is no close parking. I called the hotel multiple times before arriving and they did not pick up.
Riad Yamcha is an oasis in Meknes. Recently renewed has a nice patio with orange trees where you can have a drink, a tea or having breakfast. We had the chance to get a very nice and luminous room directly on the patio. Room was big with comfortable bedroom and a nice bathroom with a comfortable shower. Every detail was well thought. Breakfast was complete and healthy. Very beautiful rooftop where we could watch the sunset while drinking local tea. It is located in the medina so you have to park outside of the gate then it is about 10min walking. Google maps helps you to get there, the entrance of the riad is a big red door.
Riad Yamcha
The worst experience after 8 days of touring Morocco. Unfortunately, it's a shame because the Riad is very beautiful and clean. But the French management is terrible, amateurish, and tragicomic. They falsely advertise that they have parking available. The one they tell you about is a WhatsApp message with completely incorrect GPS coordinates. It's a 10-minute walk from the Riad through the medina. If it hadn't been for a local boy who saw us having serious trouble with the car in the crowd, after 40 minutes of searching, we would have had to give up on reaching the Riad we had booked. The boy called the Riad, and they weren't helpful at all. Finally, with a bit of luck, we arrived. Tired and nervous, they asked us twice for tea, but they didn't even understand the timing. This is because three women who do the cleaning and breakfast are managing the Riad on behalf of a Frenchman who is nowhere to be seen and isn't there. It was a truly sad moment. I've been to over 50 countries, and when I had to ask the women in a kitchen how much I should pay because they don't even have a reception, the ordeal began. It was total confusion. They didn't know what I was paying, and they wanted me to check the bill. I had taken extras. I didn't receive the invoice before paying, so three women who only spoke French and wanted to overcharge me spent 20 minutes trying to make them understand that they had overcharged me. Total confusion, of course. They always said that the owner had said so. This mysterious owner is a Frenchman who is invisible and leaves everything to the waitresses, with all due respect. But I don't pay €70 a night to have service like that, it's unacceptable. In the end, there was 40 dirhams missing. I had already paid without even receiving the invoice. Incredible but true. The owner delegated a waitress, and at 8:30 pm while I was sleeping, she woke me up to get her money. Do it the next morning? Finally, I asked to speak to this mysterious owner, but he doesn't speak English. And I decided to let it go. He, on the other hand, continues to stalk me with moral messages. Don't go to these people.
A riad nestled in the medina of Meknes. Beautifully renovated with meticulous attention to detail. Extremely spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated rooms. A superb terrace with 360-degree views of the city. An unforgettable welcome from the owners and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent and generous breakfast. Thank you!
This is my third time in Meknes. The first two times, I wasn't disappointed with the accommodation. But this time, I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. Evelyne and Gérald, the owners, are very welcoming. The riad is magnificent, decorated with great taste, and the food is delicious (local and fresh daily produce). A real discovery, in short!
