Riad 42

A beautiful riad centrally located in the Medina of Marrakech. Stepping inside feels like entering a true oasis. The manager, Yassine, and his two employees were incredibly kind and accommodating. The cooks even showed us how to make their delicious pancakes, called "mille trous" there. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a highlight every day, and on our first evening, we booked dinner and enjoyed a wonderful tagine, which was one of the culinary highlights of our trip. We would absolutely return to this riad; it was wonderful. Thank you!

Stayed at Riad 42 in Marrakech. Disappointing, since they ask you to pay for your stay in cash as soon as you set foot in the riad, I should point out! Yes, credit cards are deliberately refused for reasons I won't mention, but we get the picture! As for the riad itself, it's nice, but nothing special… Too minimalist for my taste and lacking in warmth. The rooms are spartan and all have the same decor, if you can even call it that! Avoid the downstairs room because the air conditioning doesn't provide any cooling, and be especially careful not to scald yourself in the shower! Only hot water, no cold at all. For meals, if you don't order the day before, you won't have a single bite! But don't worry, there are some great little restaurants nearby that are much less expensive, because at the riad, even a bottle of water costs extra! Regarding the rooftop, you'll find an extremely small pool that's more like a paddling pool, and if you need towels, you'll have to be very patient to get them since they aren't provided. As for the riad's location, good luck finding it, as there are no directions given. Of course, if you use the services of the very money-hungry owner, she'll be happy to find someone to help you get around, but it will cost you the modest sum of 150,000 dirhams, payable in advance. In short, the owner's Instagram account is enticing but greatly exaggerates the reality, and the services are far below what one would expect from such a riad.
