Riad 117 Marrakech

Highly recommend this Riad in the heart of the Medina. On a quiet cul-de-sac a very short walk from the square. Nice pool for a quick cool dip on a hot and sticky day. Nice bed and bathroom. Good hot water and fully stocked bathroom. Nice Moroccan breakfast.

We had a great stay at Riad 117. It’s a beautiful place with great interior design and energy. Centrally located you can reach Jemaa el-Fna within 5 min walk. The staff - especially Youness - is very nice and helpful. We will definitely come back to Marrakesh and stay at Riad 117 again. Thanks for everything. 🙏🏻 …

There were stains on the sheets. The first thing I saw when the host showed me the bathroom was a huge bug in the shower. The walls were stained too. The pool was empty and dirty. On the days they remembered to serve breakfast, it was cold and unappetizing. The rooftop was a mess, with a mattress left out, dirty couches, and people’s laundry hanging around. Shameful. They are currently being investigated for deleting negative comments by marking paying guests as "no-shows" on booking. It’s obvious this place has not been cleaned or tended to in a long time. Also the area is not safe. If you want to stay there, you've been warned, I definitely will not.

Very good Riad !! Refurbished in a nice way, the rooms are very nice and lots of natural light. Beautiful rooftop terrace !

We loved our stay at Riad 117, in large part because of Abdel, Mohammed, and the team! The intimate Riad is conveniently located steps from Jemma el-Fna in a "safer" part of the medina (we were two females and felt very comfortable during the day, and sufficiently safe to get home at night when shops were closed/streets more barren). Abdel went out of his way to help us, from highlighting places on a map and advising on reasonable taxi and local goods values (everything is negotiable!), to walking around half the city with us + a rug to ship back, and bringing overnight bags to us when we went on an overnight trip to a port city. Beyond the service, the rooms were well appointed with traditional Moroccan textiles and furnishings (similar to much of our experience in Morocco, the beds were on the firmer side). The daily breakfasts on the rooftop were also excellent (eggs + Berber spice is the best thing since PB&J!). And we loved the convenience of the location to all the shops and restaurants in the old town! The one thing that would be worth noting for those interested in lounging would be that the pool is quite small (more hot tub size).
