Savoy Le Grand Hotel Marrakech

This hotel was overall lovely and a much needed respite from the busy city. There’s a few things to know though particularly if you are travelling from Europe; - There is a strict alcohol policy. You can buy alcohol on site (very expensive) but you cannot bring your own in. Security will check your bag and you are charged €50 per bottle - The hotel is just called Savoy, it is not ‘The Savoy’. It’s still nice but it’s definitely not the same standard - our bed had massive dents where the mattress had sagged, the floor had paint splatters across the whole room from careless decoration and food is decent but just ok - The bars allow smoking inside. If this doesn’t bother you, cool - if it does, ask to be seated away from smoke - I keep seeing on social media channels that uber doesn’t exist or is difficult to get. We didn’t find this at all, and recommend uber as a fair priced way to get around if you don’t want to walk. It’s about a 20-30 min walk to the medina straight down the man road - Staff are really friendly, lobby is lovely but if you’re reading this close to my posting please note there is MAJOR work being done to the hotel which gets very noisy and disruptive to your movement around the hotel and they have not advertised this on their website or even in an email before check in.

Welcoming. Clean and everything well signed. Main pool bar and area, was clean and service was good. Good selection of drinks and snacks. The reception was lovely to see all floral arrangements.

We had the best hotel experience in a while here. The hospitality, the rooms, the hotel as a whole is extremely luxurious. We booked our stay in off season and it turned out to be very reasonably priced with the breakfast included (the breakfast being the absolute best we’ve had in ages - with choices of all types available). The staff were so hospitable and friendly. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were my top pick.

Best 5star Hotel with excellent Amenities in Marrakesh. Swimming pool is big enough and maintained well. Rooms are neat and clean, especially taps are all working and no leaks which you see in other hotels in Marrakesh. Bar and Spa is attached and wonderful service. Take Moroccan Bath is Spa, staffs are good and 5 star service from them. ATM is located in Lobby, which is safe and secure in Marrakesh, unlike other places. Overall best stay in Savoy. night clubs are next door, added advantage guys.

Starting with the fact that is is definitely NOT a 5* hotel, the building has certainly some nice features: - The hall - The pool (very cold) with all the sun beds and big umbrellas - The breakfast buffet (huge variety of food, but quality could be improved) - Friendliness of staff - Price and Location - Nice room and bathroom size - Nice gym and SPA and a few restaurants In a 5* hotel though, you wouldn’t need to wait for a whole day for some instant coffee to be delivered to your room, and for some capsule coffee that was never delivered, despite asking more than twice. The shower water would flow away and not remain in the shower with the risk of flooding the entire bathroom. You wouldn’t find leftover food from room service abandoned in the corridor for a whole day, and day after day (literally some breakfast leftover stuff was there the whole day, until dinner time). In general it is a good hotel, but calling it a Grand Hotel 5* is definitely too much.

People are very kind. But the room had from the start a water leak and was flooding to the bed from the shower. Called it in and technician couldn't fix it. However called reception two more times and nothing happened. Even nobody called me back. The rooms are overal ok but old. The customers service is 0-stars.

You book a pool view room and they give you a partial view or a view on the small pool saying that it s still a pool view. Horrible experience

Great place to stay. Lovely room, friendly and attentive service, and good value for money. It was a shame we only booked for one night. We'll definitely be back!
