ISLAN TRAVELS

This was my third holiday to Marrakech and the second time I had booked excursions through Islan Travels. I previously dealt with Khalid, who was extremely helpful, and this time we were looked after by Mohin, who was incredible. When we arrived, I explained that we were a group of nine, including two children with additional needs, and that we would require some flexibility. Mohin listened carefully, understood the complexities of our group and helped us plan several trips. He also gave us very reasonable prices because of the size of our group and the number of bookings we were making. We were able to pay by card, which was very convenient. Our first excursion was to Ouzoud Waterfalls, which we had visited previously. Mohin allowed us to book transport without paying for the full package because we knew that some members of our group would not be climbing or eating with the tour. We agreed on the price, pickup time and location, and everything was clearly organised. The only delay was approximately 20 minutes because another customer sharing the minibus arrived late. This is something to bear in mind when booking shared transport, as the vehicle may need to wait for other passengers. We also needed transport to and from Essaouira but could not justify the cost of a private vehicle. Mohin found an affordable and flexible solution by arranging for us to travel on one of the excursion minibuses. On the way, we were able to join part of the organised tour and visit an argan-oil cooperative. It was a wonderful experience to meet the women producing the oil, learn about the process and purchase some products from the shop. We were then dropped off in Essaouira and agreed on a collection point and time for the following day. The driver collected us as arranged and brought us safely back to Marrakech. Mohin was once again very accommodating with the price. Our third booking was a trip to the Ourika Valley. Because the children were tired, we requested a later departure, and Mohin arranged a 9:15am pickup with other passengers travelling at the same time. We also needed to return earlier than the standard tour, and he helped arrange for us to arrive back in Marrakech shortly before 5:00pm. The Ourika Valley was beautiful, but visitors should understand that the waterfall climb is extremely physically demanding and may feel unsafe for anyone who is not fit, confident and steady on difficult terrain. Only my two eldest children attempted it; the rest of us chose not to climb. We still had a fantastic day relaxing beside the water, eating, drinking and enjoying the surroundings. The trip also included another cooperative and a visit to a traditional Berber home, where Fatima welcomed us with tea and biscuits. This was a warm and memorable experience. Islan Travels provided us with three very different but thoroughly enjoyable experiences. Mohin was patient, flexible, honest and consistently helpful. Organising excursions for nine people, including two children with additional needs, is not straightforward, but he worked hard to accommodate us and made everything much easier. I would highly recommend Islan Travels, and Mohin in particular. I would not hesitate to use them again on my next visit to Marrakech.

Very safe and friendly, the whole team was really brilliant. I was travelling with children and they were always ok time, the guide stayed with us at all times. We constantly received messages throughout and they were very quick to respond. The excursions were the best quality.

. Having arrived today at allotted time no one to greet us, man behind the desk extremely unhelpful at first, had no information to provide. When my partner went to sit down on a step as no chairs available he very rudely told her no, told us we pay online we wait outside, became verbally aggressive. Would not recommend, still awaiting transport and trip already ruined. Was called and messaged by the boss, very apologetic. Once transport arrived, experience was amazing, well planned out, the extra 20 euros for the quad biking is a must. Had about an hour and half in total riding. The evening meal was just enough in a beautiful setting and the fire show at the end was mesmerising. If booking just make sure you get the manager and not his assistant. Despite his actions would highly recommend agafay quad bike, meal and show.

Booked a hot air balloon trip with this company it was fantastic and a lifetime trip everyone should do. Watching the sunrise over the Atlas mountain range from a hot air balloon was totally breath taking. We had a bite to eat and drink before we went up then took some amazing pictures. The pilot was brilliant and then we had breakfast when we landed.

Really nice experience, quad bike, camel ride and dinner with show, and good price. Pedro the person that booked everything for us was very friendly and helpful!
