Dunes de Dakhla

Did not have a very good experience. Firstly, our booking was cancelled by the hotel before we arrived, even though we had messaged 24 hours prior to say we would be uncontactable (due to internet being shut off by the government in Mauritania). Once arrived, they tried to charge us more than the ‘cancelled’ booking price… the manager did do his best to fix this though. The poor experience came from after our first night. Like everyone in Dakhla, we are here to kitesurf, we were not told that there is only one bus a day at 10:00 and returning at 20:00 that needs to be booked the day prior. No information was given to us about this at all. Once we asked how to get to the kite location (a mere 2kms away), we were told it would cost 70 euros!! And that we need to book a bus tomorrow! In the meantime, a car from Attitude (their partner hotel) arrived to drop off 2 guests, when we asked to get in the car to go with him as he was going with an empty car all that was said was ‘no’ and he drove away. Extremely poor communication from the manager, ridiculous that we cannot get any transport to somewhere so close. We feel trapped at a resort. Would not recommend at all. * the rest of the staff are super friendly and the food is amazing. Management communication and lack of clarity about transport ruined our trip.

I came to this hotel seeking peace and tranquility, and it truly lived up to my expectations. Les Dunes de Dakhla is a true haven of peace in the heart of the desert, surrounded by dunes, allowing you to recharge and reconnect with yourself. The rooms are very spacious and well-equipped with everything you need. The shower water is from a thermal spring, which is beneficial for the skin, and it's nice and hot too. Full board includes all three meals. Thank you to the chef for the delicious and carefully prepared dishes. The portions are very generous and satisfying. The restaurant's setting is very pleasant, allowing us to enjoy nature. The swimming pool is a beautiful change of scenery, clean and well-maintained, with towels provided. Thank you to the manager, Youssef, and all the staff for their attention to the guests; we were truly pampered as they went above and beyond. Even with my early arrival, I was given my room immediately and benefited from a late check-out. The free shuttle is a real bonus; the drivers even arrive ahead of schedule. Thank you again for your hospitality; I'll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which I highly recommend if you're looking for a change of scenery and tranquility. The hotel is located in the heart of the desert, surrounded by dunes. The food is excellent and plentiful; a special mention goes to Hamid, the waiter, who is incredibly kind. We were able to explore the dunes and admire the sunset. Thank you to Hicham for his kindness and hospitality; we learned a great deal about Dakhla from him.

We had an unforgettable stay at this hotel with our two children. A magical place, far removed from stress and truly ideal for disconnecting. The atmosphere is lovely, and the bungalows/campsites are very comfortable, with thermal water available for showering. The food is fantastic; thank you to the entire team! The manager is very friendly, and a special mention to Bouchta... Thank you so much for the warm welcome and hospitality. I will definitely return and recommend this place without hesitation.

A unique hotel with a traditional Sahrawi setting. We took advantage of the day pass, which included transfer from Dakhla to the hotel, access to the pool (with entertainment provided by Nizar, whom I thank for the great atmosphere), lunch, and a mountain biking session in the desert for the price of 250 dirhams 😍 The pool is located in the heart of the desert and is quite large. The Moroccan lunch was delicious (the traditional chicken was excellently prepared), and the cycling session was very enjoyable. The staff was very welcoming and attentive: a truly magnificent day.

We spent a night there with our children. The setting is magnificent, the staff very helpful and attentive. Everything was perfect, a real change of scenery, and the swimming pool nestled among the sand dunes is a real bonus.

A truly wonderful stay in this haven of peace in the heart of the desert. Meals worthy of the grand feasts of ancient Rome, and staff who took exceptional care of us. Our first place visited in Morocco, and we will cherish the memories.
