Today’s experience was honestly very disappointing. I ordered a smoothie and at first I was told they were out of the ingredients, so I chose something else. Then when I paid, they came back and told me there was no avocado for the avocado delight. I was already okay with waiting 10 minutes if they needed to prepare the avocado, so I said fine. Then there were no dates either. I asked if I could get a refund because I don’t drink coffee or acidic drinks because of stomach problems, and they suggested another smoothie that I had actually wanted to order in the first place, but earlier I had been told they didn’t have the fruits for it. Somehow, suddenly, they did. Honestly, I was fine with all of this. Mistakes happen and ingredients can run out. What really upset me was what happened with the cookies. I specifically asked twice for the cookies to be brought when I asked for them because I hadn’t even started my brunch yet. I wanted to decide whether I would eat them there or take them home depending on how full I was. When they brought them, I politely told the waiter that I didn’t want them yet and asked if they had been heated because they would get cold while I was still eating. He looked at me coldly, opened the box, then went to another waiter and they started laughing and joking about the fact that they had opened the box and now had to close it again. They were doing it right in front of me. I honestly felt like they were making fun of me, and I found it extremely disrespectful. At that point, I asked for the manager to be called because I wanted to explain what had happened. I explained the entire situation to him calmly, including what happened with the waiter. Instead of addressing the issue with the staff, his main concern seemed to be asking me not to leave a bad review. He kept saying things like “please don’t put a bad review.” This is not how you deal with a customer complaint. The focus should be on understanding what happened and addressing the behavior, not on trying to prevent a bad review. What made it even worse was that after I explained everything, he went back to the same waiter I had just had a problem with and they were laughing together in front of me as if nothing had happened. It honestly made me feel like I was the one being laughed at. I really like this place. The food, the atmosphere and everything about it is amazing, which is why I’m even more disappointed by today’s experience. The problem was not the mistakes with my order. Mistakes happen and I was very understanding about them. The problem was the attitude and the way the situation was handled afterwards. I really hope management takes this seriously because the place deserves much better customer service.

I came back to By the Way yesterday after a previous experience that honestly wasn’t great, and I have to give them credit, the improvement is impressive. This time they had card payment available, the service was fast and efficient, and the overall experience was great. It’s always nice to see a coffee shop actually listen, improve, and fix the things that weren’t working before. By the Way has definitely done that. Very good improvement and well deserved recognition. Keep it up! 👏☕

Great place! The staff were very friendly en welcoming, the food was amazing en the coffee was very good, would definitely recommend if you are in the area. The vibe is great for a chill brunch, will definitely be back!

Very nice food, really helpfull staff and nice vibes. Would recommend if you want a nice bite. Staff was really helpfull and made sure we had everything we’ve ordered. Loved the music too huge plus!
